A huge congratulations to Humza Yousaf on his victory in the Scottish National Party (SNP) leadership election.
As First Minister designate, Humza will become the first Muslim leader of a democratic Western European nation. This is a historic moment in our diverse modern Scotland and one which we can be rightly proud to see.
Commiserations and thanks to both Kate Forbes and Ash Regan. The campaign has taken the three candidates all around Scotland, covering hundreds of miles and they all put in a huge shift with hustings, media bids, chats with members and so much more.
And an enormous thanks to those behind the scenes - the team at SNP HQ, our NEC, and in particular our National Secretary Lorna Finn who has done a fantastic and tireless job delivering this election.
